Dear Miriam, how are you today?
The tension is at its peak and I am very happy. Now the time has come and we have opened the eighth Ginesta branch in a top location in Winterthur. After all the effort that we have invested here over the last few months, this is a great moment.
After Ginesta opened two branches last year, you should have practice by now. Isn't that business as usual?
Of course, we benefit from the experience of other openings, for example in the choice of furniture, the necessary technical infrastructure and the implementation of marketing measures. These are the usual tasks, coordinated and implemented by our world-class marketing and office management team. But it was much more challenging for us to be ready from day one with the right team in Winterthur. After all, it is no different in the real estate sector than in other sectors: finding specialists with the right training and experience is one thing. People who fit together and carry the same values, is another. This is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and we have succeeded so far.
Tell us a little bit more about yourself and your team.
When Ginesta decided to open an office in Winterthur and was looking for a manager for this task, it quickly became clear to me that the profile was a perfect match. I was able to convince the management with three factors. The many years of real estate experience with constant further training, the fresh approach to developing the new market area and probably last but not least the fire that burns inside me (laughs). A trust for which I am very grateful. It also seems important to me to emphasize how professionally and structured I was introduced to the high quality standards and processes at the headquarters in Küsnacht over the last six months. I was very lucky to be able to recruit two ideally qualified employees for my team. With Alice Zurflüh as a real estate consultant and Nhu Ai Duong as a brogerage assistant I have a perfect match.
Does that mean your team is complete and you're ready?
Yes, for the beginning we are complete and because we have been preparing together for several months, we are already a well-rehearsed team that also harmonizes perfectly on a personal level. And yes, we all approach the task with a lot of drive and so it may soon be that we need additional reinforcement. If this challenge excites you: We are always on the lookout for talent.
That sounds like a perfect starting point. But be honest: will you, as a team of three, really manage to handle all mandates seriously?
I can guarantee that without blushing. Because the cross-branch collaboration was another good reason for me to pursue my career path with Ginesta. For example, we can access the relevant competence centers for extensive new construction projects or complex initial lettings of newly built residential and commercial estates. For professional assessments, we work together with our appraisal desk and thanks to New Work, our colleagues from all specialist areas can work in any location or from home. Even in the assistance area, thanks to modern software solutions, we benefit from the fact that tasks end up in a pool that can be processed by all branches if necessary. This modern way of working together not only ensures stable quality standards in all regions and access to all our specialists, it is also a lot of fun. Everyone is in close contact with the team and that holds us together, we are pursuing a vision. I have to say that the extraordinary is achieved at Ginesta because everyone is a professional and the organization is fully geared towards using these strengths in an ideal way.
Still, I assume you'll want to put your stamp on what you do. What are you looking forward to the most?
I'm a natural-born networker and I aim to quickly become a respected part of Winterthur's commercial landscape. This includes, for example, establishing the right sparring partner, participating in city life and being seen as a company.
Last but not least, a personal question: What is your favorite place in Winterthur?
Of course our new offices, they are just perfect and you can see them from afar (laughs). Seriously: I am a passionate cyclist and like to spend my free time on a racing bike, mountain bike or BMX. Winterthur is the most bike-friendly city in Switzerland, which you can feel in everyday life: easy movement throughout the city, always a bit of extra exercise and fresh air without polluting the environment. This is exactly my lifestyle and also the best way to keep rediscovering the city with its charming quarters, countless green oases and diverse architecture. When summer comes, I'm already thinking about organizing a Ginesta branded bike - that way I'll kill two and maybe even three birds with one stone.
Many thanks Mirjam for taking the time for this pleasant conversation. We wish you and your team every success.
