The urban development concept from 1948 gave Schwamendingen its distinctive face. The residential suburb with mostly cooperative housing estates still offers attractive living space for families today. Private gardens, communal, generous open spaces, but also numerous school buildings within park-like green spaces contribute to the quality of the living space.
Currently, various renovations and renewals of the housing estates from the post-war years are planned. The character of the garden city is to be preserved as far as possible during further development.
