Location
Männedorf, a convivial lakeside community on its sunny banks with a good 10,000 inhabitants, is neatly ensconced between Lake Zurich and the Pfannenstiel recreation area – and is gaining increasing popularity among outsiders. Public transportation
The Männedorf Train Station is serviced by the S7-line of the S-Bahn: one direction takes you to Zurich Central Station in 20 minutes, while the other reaches the center of Rapperswil. The local busses busily service each neighborhood. The 925 and 940 lines connect Männedorf with the neighboring communities of Meilen and Oetwil am See. Of course, residents and visitors also travel by boat to the other lakeside communities and Zurich.

The lakeshore community offers a convenient infrastructure that includes a variety of stores for everyday needs, several retail shops, and all kinds of services. Schools Männedorf is home to several nurseries, an after-school center, play group, seven kindergartens, and four school campuses at the Volkschulstufe (primary and lower secondary levels); the nearest cantonal school is located in Küsnacht. Starting in the second year of kindergarten, children attend a free elementary level class in music.
