In 1944, Achilles Ginesta laid the foundation stone for the Küsnacht family business. As an authorized signatory of a trading company that invested in real estate in addition to its core business, he familiarised himself with the notarial system. He became more and more involved in the real estate business, in which he found great pleasure. In an economically difficult situation, he ventured into self-employment and, before the end of the war, founded "Ginesta Immobilien, Export und Import" in his three-and-a-half room apartment at Oberwachstrasse 7 in Küsnacht - the first professional real estate company on the right bank of lake Zurich.
In 1945, the real estate business begins to prosper strongly and Ginesta Immobilien moves into premises on Rämistrasse in Zurich's city center. But it is not only the real estate business that is booming, but also the volume of traffic. The parking situation becomes so precarious that in 1965 Achilles moves his business back to low-tax Küsnacht. This time to Oberwachtstrasse 2, directly opposite his former home. Success and growth continued.
In 1969, his son André joins the paternal firm. Under his leadership, Ginesta establishes itself as one of the leading real estate agencies in the greater region of Zurich. Ginesta Real Estate is considered a pioneer among professional realtors in that it is one of the very few among comparable family undertakings to have succeeded in maintaining an uninterrupted market presence since 1944 in what has always been a competitively challenging environment.
With effect from 2001, André and Evelyne Ginesta take on the additional support of their son and CEO, Claude A. Ginesta. Since then, the firm has undergone further expansion. A property that itself looks back on an "eventful" history, because in 1995 it was moved as a whole on rails over fifteen meters without damage to the new location where today our office can be found, namely Aquasanastrasse 8.
