In terms of area, Falera is the smallest and oldest municipality of the destination Flims Laax Falera. Thanks to its altitude, it offers an unobstructed and unique view over the Rhine Valley to Chur, from the Lugnez to far in the direction of Obersaxen.
The sun-drenched community lies on the left slope of the Vorderrheintal. With its patrician houses, Falera has preserved the charm of a Grisons mountain village. The landmark is the church of St. Remigus. It was built about 500 years ago on the magnificent cult site of Mutta. The church is considered one of the most beautiful and interesting cultural-historical buildings in the Bündner Oberland.
