Up here, there is a sheer snow paradise at peaks of up to 3,018m above sea level with wide pistes, 4 snow parks catering for the beginner up to the advanced, 2 half-pipes (the biggest in Europe), freestyle pistes, enchanting cross-country trails, as well as winter hiking routes and toboggan runs. The pride of place is the Freestyle Academy in Laax, a renowned freestyle training arena with trampolines, an air-track, a boulder and rock-climbing wall, and skateboard as well as three different snowboard kicker ramps with bagjump soft landings - the perfect action playground for freestyle skiers, snowboarders, skaters and bikers alike.

Its tennis, badminton, and golf amenities, more than 250km of hiking trails, as well as themed walks or designated culinary excursions, more than 330km of marked mountain bike trails, or the Pinut climb, tempt all sorts of visitors into the great outdoors. The three lakes to swim in are a particular attraction in summer. Who doesn't dream of diving into one of the idyllic tarns or moor pools after a hard day in the mountains, with their picturesque bays and Mediterranean ambience? Further down the valley the Rhine has channelled its way into the rock, creating the equivalent of the Swiss Grand Canyon or the Rhine gorge, famed for its somewhat treacherous water sports: this spectacular ravine is a mecca for river rafters from all over the world.
