Dear Real Estate Friends
Once again, I would like to draw your attention to an administrative court decision concerning the protection of the townscape. Some residents in a district of Zurich have taken legal action against the rezoning of the residential area from a three- to a four-storey zone. While the building appeals court still dismissed the application, the administrative court has now upheld the complaints. The residents had complained that the interests of the inventory of sites worthy of protection in Switzerland, ISOS for short, had not been taken into sufficient consideration in the rezoning.
The court decision is not yet final, the last word in this matter has not yet been spoken. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the ISOS will have a considerable influence on construction activity in the city, but also in the agglomeration. Even the townscapes of holiday regions are to be protected, so that the desired densification is also hindered there. The state planning instrument is greatly underestimated.
Online under Ginesta NEWS you will find a copy of the NZZ article commenting on the corresponding court decision. We recommend that you read it.
Sincerely yours
