Location

The historic farming village of Hombrechtikon, with its 8,000 residents, is the uppermost Zurich community along the right banks of Lake Zurich.

Transportation

The town enjoys excellent transportation connections. Rapperswil can be reached by car within 10 minutes if traffic is running smoothly; Zurich can be reached via the Oberland-bypass within 30 minutes. The nearby town of Bubikon provides a link to the S-Bahn and excellent bus connections. You can reach Zurich-Stadelhofen station on the S-Bahn within 25 minutes.

Schools

Hombrechtikon has playgroups, kindergartens, all forms of primary and secondary schooling, as well as afterschool daycare programs in the afternoons. The nearest gymnasium (college preparatory school) is located in Wetzikon.

Shopping

Over the past few years, the residential site evolved into an independent suburban municipality within the Zurich agglomeration. There are all kinds of major retailers and specialty shops available for shopping needs. Post office and banks are also in town.

The landscape makes hiking, jogging, and biking virtually irresistible. One extraordinarily beautiful feature is the languorous Lützelsee, with its idyllic bathing and floating islands, as well as the quaint surrounding farmsteads and the flocks of storks that nest there.
